Essentis Open MessagingThe client components of Essentis can be deployed using either a two-tier client/server architecture where the client workstation communicates directly with the Essentis server, or as a three-tier architecture via an "application server" with client responsibilities split into two. In the three-tier architecture the client consists of the presentation tier containing the GUI (or a browser), and the middle tier that communicates with the server. The Essentis Open Messaging application (EOM) is a middleware-messaging server. The purpose of EOM is to facilitate the communication between a client GUI and the Essentis server in either the 2-tier or 3-tier architectures via a XML based messaging interface. EOM also offers load-balancing mechanisms to ensure effective performance handling. EOM can be used to provide access to the Essentis server functions for applications such as:
EOM can be deployed on Unix or NT servers. |
